The interim final rule modifies and expands the regulations implementing the Income and Eligibility Verification System (IEVS) to include the statutory requirements in title III of the Social Security Act, the Federal Unemployment Tax Act, and the Wagner-Peyser Act concerning confidentiality and disclosure of information in State UC records. The use of unemployment compensation wage records under these and other statutes has increased in recent years while privacy and confidentiality issues have not yet been addressed.
