Additional Funding for Identity Verification or Verification of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) Claimants and Funding to Assist with Efforts to Prevent and Detect Fraud and Identity Theft as well as Recover Fraud Overpayments in the PUA and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) Programs

Purpose

To inform states regarding (i) the availability of additional funding and how to apply for the funding to cover administrative expenses and solutions that can be used to support the identity verification or validation of PUA claimants; (ii) to assist with efforts to prevent and detect fraud and imposter claims resulting from identity theft in the PUA and PEUC programs; and (iii) to recover fraud overpayments in the PUA and PEUC programs.
